SAVIMYLA
'Interdisciplinary project

SAVIMYLA invites the audience into an uncomfortable and disarmingly open experience in the form of a seated concert – the presentation of his debut album ne veltui nebenoriu gyvent.

Through deeply personal, at times vulgar and uncomfortably candid lyrics, the artist confronts excessive masculinity and its manifestations.

This will be the first opportunity to hear the yet-unreleased album live and the first encounter with SAVIMYLA – a new artistic persona of interdisciplinary artist Matas Petkūnas.

The album was partially funded by AGATA.

About

SAVIMYLA

SAVIMYLA is best known on the Lithuanian music scene as a musical provocateur, combining self-reflective lyrics with performance both on and beyond the stage.

One might try to place SAVIMYLA somewhere within the realms of Lithuanian alternative music, alt-pop, lo-fi or experimental country. Yet acoustic guitar motifs combined with samples deeply rooted in Lithuanian popular culture (such as “Kieša” and “Antanas eina namo”) and uncomfortably candid lyrics make the project difficult to pin down.

This unconventional approach to music turns savimyla into a phenomenon that challenges the deeply rooted conventions of pop music – dogmas that usually remain unquestioned.
